Romain Barrès
Biography
Professor Romain Barrès obtained his Bachelor in Physiology from the University of Toulouse (France) and a Master and PhD in Molecular Biology from the University of Nice Côte d’Azur (France). He conducted his postdoctoral studies in the laboratory of Prof. Juleen Zierath at the Karolinska Institutet in Stockholm, after which he worked as a Lecturer at the University of New South Wales in Sydney. In 2010, he joined the Novo Nordisk Foundation Center for Basic Metabolic Research to establish the Environmental Epigenetics lab at the University of Copenhagen. He is the Head of the Gametic Epigenetic Consortium against Obesity (GECKO), Associate Editor for Frontiers Endocrinology and member of the Editorial Board of Environmental Epigenetics. He is a recipient of the Helmholtz Young Investigator in Diabetes Award (HeIDI). He is also a Leadership and Management trainer for scientists for hfp-consulting (https://hfp-consulting.com).
