Biography

Dale is a postdoctoral fellow at the Molecular and Cellular Pharmacological Institute (IPMC), CNRS, Sophia-Antipolis.

Dale holds a PhD from the University of Toronto where he studied the mammalian evolution of gene regulation in acute inflammation using comparative epigenomics. In 2024, he joined Romain Barrès’ lab in France to investigate the effects of diet and time on the sperm epigenome using a comparative genomics approach.

This analysis integrates epigenetic data- including genome— wide DNA methylation profiles and small non-coding RNAs— from various organisms in the GECKO projects, such as humans, mice, mini pigs, rabbits and guinea pigs. By examining multiple species, he will explore the evolution of sperm epigenome regulation modulated by diet and time, with a particular focus on identifying the most functionally conserved mechanisms.
